Beginning of a New Journey

Wow back to blogging after so long!!! Well now it's a new country, new surrounding, new life, new people - "New" everything. It feels overwhelming in the beginning but everything falls in place soon as long as you are willing to adapt to the new environment.

New Life has been a roller coaster - I missed home a lot in the beginning, but now after almost a year and half here I must say this place definitely feels like home! I've met a lots of new friends, mentors and relatives who have been very nice to me when I arrived. But the best part about being in this country is that I've learnt to be more independent and started appreciating every little thing in life.

I've visited a lot of  beautiful places and I'm definitely going to mention about my visits and experiences in my upcoming blogs. This has been a wonderful journey and I don't regret taking the risk of leaving home and exploring the new country, my home now!

It's almost time to say goodbye...

It's really hard to say this but goodbye here it comes

Been here for a life time but have to leave soon..
Faced hurdles and overcome them here but have to leave soon..
Shared loads of happiness with loved ones here but have to leave soon..
Fought, cried, laughed with family and friends here but have to leave soon..
Seems like just yesterday I was born in this beautiful land but have to leave soon..

It's almost time to say goodbye to all my loved ones here, glad to have met such wonderful people in my life.. Goodbye to all here... And it's almost time for me to begin a new life in a new land...

Golden memories with Grandpa

"A grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart. "

Its all the memories of being held in grandpa's arms, the hide and seek we used to play and trying to learn a song sung by him that remains vaguely in my mind. I miss you my grandpa, I wish I could sit besides you now and look at you smile with those cute dimple on your cheeks.. You are indeed the most handsome and honest man in this whole wide world!

I love you grandpa, may your soul rest in peace... I miss you..

When I was given the honor by my school to judge a prestigious Event!

My mom received a call from my English teacher and she was quite surprised since my brother had moved to another school, my sister was in college and I was working.. My mom and teacher had a typical conversation of "How are you and your family?" and so on .. Then my English teacher asked for me, but I was at work. So my mom was told that my teacher wanted me to judge a prestigious event at my school! My mom was as excited as I was when I heard it, it was such an honor to be called by my teacher and going back to my school after 5 years as the youngest judge!

It was at 8.30 am when I reached my school, entering in and being recognized by my Principal and teachers made me feel wonderful. I went in and there were two teachers and few student volunteers who were in charge to guide me around the campus, but I didn't need any guidance since I knew my campus too well :) I felt like I was back to school again...

I was seated with other judges which comprised of celebrities, media persons, teachers, police officers and social workers.. It was amazing to socialize with all of them, then at 9 am they started the programme by introducing the judges and requesting them to come up to the stage. When my name was called out, I walked up to the stage and my profile was being read out aloud by my teacher and I could see that my teacher was very proud of me which made me also feel very proud.. After that we proceeded to the teachers room where we had breakfast and all my teachers were so happy to see me and every teacher was introducing me to their friends saying that "She was my student", it made me feel very nice :) I still remember during school days we would never be allowed to enter the teacher's room but that day I was having breakfast with my lovely teachers in that special room!

After breakfast I was guided by the two teachers and few student volunteers to the room where the competition was taking place. I could see so my students with their props and speech sheets in their hands, they were cute and smiled at me signalling that they were ready. As each student spoke, I was reminded of the time when I was also there as a student who was excited and nervous to deliver the speech in front of so many students from other schools.

Being the judge was another amazing experience I gained, the final decision was made, the first 3 places were awarded with trophies and other students were given certificates! I was as excited as the students that day, I wish I could be a student again :)

A compliment that I would always treasure

Today was the day when I'd organised an event for MTV where I handled the media for the event, it was such an amazing time where I had hands-on experience with the media. Reporters and photographers from all the top media had arrived and they wanted to interview the VJ's and I had to organize everything in such a way that the reporters and photographers get equal opportunity to get their media bytes, so I made them feel special and ensured that the event went on smoothly and the media got what they wanted. This was my new job in the PR field and I proved myself at work. My boss complimented me for my work and he was glad that I had joined the company.

I felt the joy when the event was a great success and it made me jump with excitement when a senior reporter from one of the top media came to me and told me that I was very professional and everything had been organised very well. Thanks to the senior reporter who made my day and recognized my work.

This event has definitely made me love my job even more and has motivated me to reach my goals in life. I'm very grateful to such people in my life, thank you ma'am. This blog is exclusively for you..

Amazing ad!!

Woke up this morning to realize that the newspaper was saying something, when I picked it up I realized that the newspaper had an audio card embedded in it. It was the Volkswagen car advertisement in the Hindu Paper. What a brilliant idea to catch the attention of the readers!

I could not help but listen to the audio again and again till my sister told me that I was going to get late to work. I was so excited that I sent out text messages to my friends and colleagues about the amazing idea of the Volkswagen ad and I also this put up as my Facebook status. And now blogging about it!

Being a PR person I would like to give a standing ovation to the Marketing & PR team of Volkswagen for creating such an impact and to be able to connect to their customers in such an innovative way!
