When I was given the honor by my school to judge a prestigious Event!

My mom received a call from my English teacher and she was quite surprised since my brother had moved to another school, my sister was in college and I was working.. My mom and teacher had a typical conversation of "How are you and your family?" and so on .. Then my English teacher asked for me, but I was at work. So my mom was told that my teacher wanted me to judge a prestigious event at my school! My mom was as excited as I was when I heard it, it was such an honor to be called by my teacher and going back to my school after 5 years as the youngest judge!

It was at 8.30 am when I reached my school, entering in and being recognized by my Principal and teachers made me feel wonderful. I went in and there were two teachers and few student volunteers who were in charge to guide me around the campus, but I didn't need any guidance since I knew my campus too well :) I felt like I was back to school again...

I was seated with other judges which comprised of celebrities, media persons, teachers, police officers and social workers.. It was amazing to socialize with all of them, then at 9 am they started the programme by introducing the judges and requesting them to come up to the stage. When my name was called out, I walked up to the stage and my profile was being read out aloud by my teacher and I could see that my teacher was very proud of me which made me also feel very proud.. After that we proceeded to the teachers room where we had breakfast and all my teachers were so happy to see me and every teacher was introducing me to their friends saying that "She was my student", it made me feel very nice :) I still remember during school days we would never be allowed to enter the teacher's room but that day I was having breakfast with my lovely teachers in that special room!

After breakfast I was guided by the two teachers and few student volunteers to the room where the competition was taking place. I could see so my students with their props and speech sheets in their hands, they were cute and smiled at me signalling that they were ready. As each student spoke, I was reminded of the time when I was also there as a student who was excited and nervous to deliver the speech in front of so many students from other schools.

Being the judge was another amazing experience I gained, the final decision was made, the first 3 places were awarded with trophies and other students were given certificates! I was as excited as the students that day, I wish I could be a student again :)

A compliment that I would always treasure

Today was the day when I'd organised an event for MTV where I handled the media for the event, it was such an amazing time where I had hands-on experience with the media. Reporters and photographers from all the top media had arrived and they wanted to interview the VJ's and I had to organize everything in such a way that the reporters and photographers get equal opportunity to get their media bytes, so I made them feel special and ensured that the event went on smoothly and the media got what they wanted. This was my new job in the PR field and I proved myself at work. My boss complimented me for my work and he was glad that I had joined the company.

I felt the joy when the event was a great success and it made me jump with excitement when a senior reporter from one of the top media came to me and told me that I was very professional and everything had been organised very well. Thanks to the senior reporter who made my day and recognized my work.

This event has definitely made me love my job even more and has motivated me to reach my goals in life. I'm very grateful to such people in my life, thank you ma'am. This blog is exclusively for you..

Amazing ad!!

Woke up this morning to realize that the newspaper was saying something, when I picked it up I realized that the newspaper had an audio card embedded in it. It was the Volkswagen car advertisement in the Hindu Paper. What a brilliant idea to catch the attention of the readers!

I could not help but listen to the audio again and again till my sister told me that I was going to get late to work. I was so excited that I sent out text messages to my friends and colleagues about the amazing idea of the Volkswagen ad and I also this put up as my Facebook status. And now blogging about it!

Being a PR person I would like to give a standing ovation to the Marketing & PR team of Volkswagen for creating such an impact and to be able to connect to their customers in such an innovative way!

How I shop for clothes without burning my pocket

Shopping just excites most women, its fun and you are trying to look your best in what you buy! I love shopping it energizes me and gives me the opportunity to be updated with the latest fashion! But there is a drawback because shopping can be fun only when you have enough cash on your card or the only thing you can do is window shop.

So when I go shopping I'm always prepared with the budget I've alloted for clothes that month. Another important point is to know what you want and what is missing from your wardrobe because once we enter the mall there are so many varieties and brands that would certainly confuse anyone!

Once you know your budget and what you want to buy, select clothes you like and try them on, they should be comfortable and make you feel confident. The salesperson would suggests you a lot of options, not a problem you can take some of their opinion but you have to be the one to be satisfied with what you purchase.

Clothes that you purchase should be of good quality and last long, do not get tempted by discounts and buy too many clothes because you cannot possibly wear all those clothes and it will only be lying in your wardrobe. Spend a good amount of time at the mall, start from home early because you need that much time for shopping!

Always make sure that when you are trying the clothes you should look good and be confident to carry it off well.

One last tip: Make sure that you are wearing comfortable clothes and shoes while shopping!

A New addition in my Family!

She's so adorable, so special and so beautiful!! Yes it my lovely puppy Bella :) She's a German Spitz, we brought her home when she was only 2 weeks old, she was so tiny and now she's big and strong. I just love the way she gets excited and wags her tail when I get back from work. What a homecoming!! :)

Bella is truly the sunshine in my life! She is growing so fast and is very active, she loves to run and play outside. But one thing she does not like is her bath, she just runs around the bathroom and I have to run behind Bella to shampoo her ;)

After my work I make sure I take Bella for a walk outside to get some fresh air. Then she has her dinner and she has this lovely habit when she eats she always needs the placemat!

Bella has become the love of our lives. I consider Bella as my family member and our little Princess :)

Indian Idol 5!

See full size image

I'm not a great fan of Indian Idol but whenever I surf the channels randomly, what makes me watch Indian Idol for a few minutes is the contestant Arpita Khan who I think is absolutely talented.

The same routine again today, I surfed the channels randomly and I did not change the channel and watched Indian Idol because next Arpita was going to sing. After she sang I was delighted that the Indian Idol Stage had such a good performer!

Then soon came the elimination round and I was very disappointed when they called out Arpita's name in that list! It bothered me even more when they announced that she was actually eliminated, I was shocked!

Talent is what counts and not the looks, I agree that an Idol should have the oomph factor but that can always be improved. She may not be the best looking but she's definitely the cute and talented one! There are so many other contestants who are still in the top list of Indian Idol, out of which some really do not deserve to be there.

It is very important to capture the talent of the singer, it is indeed a loss that Arpita is eliminated but I'm sure she's gonna do well wherever she goes in future!

All the best Arpita! Keep it up because you are very talented!

My new job !

I'm excited about commencing work in an amazing company in a few days. It would be a great opportunity for me to learn a lot and I'm looking forward to it. My work is going to be challenging, interesting and I would get to interact with a lot of people. I've also had one of the best rounds of selection which had made it even more interesting.

Let's begin with the first round of selection process where I had to write essays and solve hypothetical questions, sounds like the same routine of selection process that any company would have but the interesting part was the second round of selection process where I was given a list of items that I had to collect and bring them back within an hour without paying for those items. I must say that it was the best experience on the field because I got to meet a lot of people in order to collect the items required; not to forget a lot of negotiation in order to get the items.

One of the public asked me if I was in a game show, which was quite astounding and I replied that indeed it was like a game show minus the camera behind me! During that one hour I had met so many people that I had never imagined including teachers, working women, students and police officers who were all very helpful.

"A brand new job is sure to mean a new beginning too,
Where a whole new world of prospects round the corner waits for You."

It was my first time experience and it was very exciting, hoping to learn, explore and grow with the company!
